The Experiment
Was this a useful look at the effects of prison? Some might say this Big Brother behind bars saw the participants too concerned with making an affect to be a true picture, though teachers and parents with a group of unruly children might learn a lot from the failed tactics of the guards. In these final two episodes, the inmates escape but are then at a loss at what to do with their freedom.

clare's personal choice of the week
Monday May 20th, 21.00, BBC1 Spooks
The week has been given over to the Chelsea Flower Show, the return of Big Brother and the Eurovision Song Contest, which is all very well. But there are also some quite good dramas about at the moment, and Spooks is one of them. A tense look at the personal and professional lives of a group of MI5 spies who just happen to be young and very attractive. In this episode they chase the instigators of race riots.
Director: Bharat Nalluri

criminal justice story lines in the main soaps during may
Little Mo returns to the dock in Eastenders to find out her sentence. What will she get for the attempted murder of Trevor? All the magazines are hinting that it won’t be a happy ending… so prepare for a mass of letters flooding into the BBC from concerned well-wishers.
In Brookside, Ron is still having problems coping with life outside jail and in Coronation Street Richard does a Brookie and buries his ex-spouse under the patio. But how long will it take for the police to come knocking?
And in Emmerdale, Scott continues to run his own car-crime empire.
