Edinburgh Student folds

Very sad... but they plan to be back up and running by next term, so in that respect most student papers fold after the second term. What is pretty staggering is that as a 'financially independent' paper they managed to run up five figure debts.

That's not very financially independent is it?

Poor neglected Blog

Time for some much needed catch-up.

First, the Guardian, being lovely, reported on Hodgewatch yesterday, here - it was top story yesterday but sadly had little impact on signing figures, which creep through the 500s. However, we have enough for a pretty strong case against the Evil Minister. Go see!

A somewhat unwise experiment in which a group of 11 and 12 year old boys are put into a house on their own to terrorise and traumatize each other, while psychologists and parents look on to make predictable comments. You can’t move for crime programmes around the 2pm mark now (do people get a particular lust for blood after lunch? Is murder the new siesta?) and this is the latest to join the stable. Sadly replacing Doctors, which was great, but so is this. Set in a Welsh magistrates’ court, now - you might not think much goes on in Wales, but this is bound to show the true depths of depravity and car-parking offences in Anne Robinson’s favourite colony.

Little Mo returns to the dock in Eastenders to find out her sentence. What will she get for the attempted murder of Trevor? All the magazines are hinting that it won’t be a happy ending… so prepare for a mass of letters flooding into the BBC from concerned well-wishers. Meanwhile, Janine finally finds herself in a jail cell after being caught with a customer.
In Brookside, Ron is still having problems coping with life outside jail and in Coronation Street Richard does a Brookie and buries his ex-spouse under the patio. But how long will it take for the police to come knocking?
And in Emmerdale, Scott continues to run his own car-crime empire.
